Pet Diagnostic Imaging
We may check certain areas more closely with these modern diagnostic instruments and deliver a more accurate and timely diagnosis.
We offer the highest level of diagnostic imaging with advanced ultrasound technology. Ultrasonography is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging technique that enables us to see soft tissue and organs under the skin. Ultrasound is a useful diagnostic tool that utilizes sound waves through a specialized probe to project real-time images or videos of our patient’s organs onto a display screen, this technology aids in differentiating between normal and abnormal findings so that a diagnostic plan can be developed. This modality allows veterinarians to see within the organs and body cavities of our patients. Most animals do not need to be sedated for these procedures.
Radiography is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. As we continually strive to offer the highest quality medicine and diagnostic testing, we are pleased to offer radiology services as a means of providing excellent care to our patients. An X-ray (radiograph) is a type of photograph that can look inside the body and reveal information that may not be discernable from the outside.
Radiography is painless, safe, and completely non-invasive, and it uses only very low doses of radiation. Because the level of radiation exposure needed to perform radiography is very low, even pregnant females and very young pets can undergo radiography.
When consultation with a specialist is indicated, images are electronically transmitted to radiologists at IDEXX for review and interpretation.
